Our team invented the use of deep learning for structure-based drug design, a core technology of Atomwise’s best-in-class AI discovery engine, which is differentiated by its ability to find and optimize novel chemical matter. We have extensively validated its discovery engine, having demonstrated the ability to find compounds with therapeutic potential hundreds of times across a wide variety of protein types and multiple “hard to drug” targets. We are advancing a proprietary pipeline of small-molecule drug candidates. Our goal is to invent a better way to discover drugs that help patients.

About the role

Our Engineering Team is a small, cohesive, remote team that owns the drug discovery platform.  As a Staff Infrastructure Engineer, you will manage a complex network of systems making heavy use of AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes, scaling to thousands of nodes, and petabytes of data.

Key Responsibilities

• Own significant portions of the infrastructure stack and lead efforts to make strategic improvements.
• Collaborate with other engineering leaders to align infrastructure strategies with overall business goals.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficiency and reliability.
• Continuously improve deployment and operational processes.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure infrastructure meets industry standards.
• Work closely with software architects to influence overall system design.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure roles.
• Expertise in Bash, Python and relevant frameworks
• Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker)
• Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• In depth knowledge of Infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Chef, Ansible)
• Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements.

• Experience with workflow systems - e.g. Flyte, Argo, MLFlow

*Pay range for this role is between $145,000 - $183,000*
