The Opportunity
Apply ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies.
Review Revenue contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards.
Evaluate and document the accounting treatment for non-standard revenue transactions.
Analyze and interpret complex revenue accounting issues and provide guidance.
Participate in the implementation and maintenance of revenue recognition policies and procedures.
Work with the sales, sales operation, and AR collection team to ensure proper documentation of revenue transactions.
Prepare journal entries, revenue reconciliations, and other month-end close activities related to revenue and revenue recognition.
Act as the strategic partner to finance and business leadership in driving and streamlining process improvements within revenue recognition close process. Continuously evaluate and improve revenue accounting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Collaborate closely with FP&A to enhance visibility regarding revenue recognition issues or changes that may impact forecast accuracy.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and management reports related to revenue.
Work with external auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements related to revenue and revenue recognition.
Ensure correct application of internal controls on revenue recognition process.
Act as a key operator in deployment of software projects that impact revenue accounting such as enhancements to the billing system, ERP implementation, new reporting tools and other system transformation projects.
Create and operationalize new business processes, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and outsourcing where appropriate.
Own finance & accounting requirements in order to enhance revenue to cash operations
Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently across products.
The Skillset
5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, with a focus on software or technology industries
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
CPA certification preferred
Big 4 CPA experience preferred
Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles under GAAP
Experience with complex revenue arrangements, including multi-element arrangements and software revenue recognition
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
NetSuite, Salesforce and other accounting software
NetSuite ARM implementation a plus
Comfortable working with large volumes of data and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines

The First 30 Days
Observe the current close process for revenue. Identify process improvements and implement them in subsequent months.
Gain an understanding of the revenue recognition policies for each of our products.
Gain an understanding of the flow of information from Salesforce to NetSuite for customer contracts.
The First 60 Days
Execute the close checklist for revenue and related areas. Recommend any additional items to represent steps as needed
Fully own the data migration process for sales orders, customer invoices and cash receipts from Salesforce to NetSuite.
Get fully ingrained in the overall financial close process and participate actively in close meetings with the rest of the accounting team.
90 Days & Beyond
Identify gaps in the processes relating to how information flows from Salesforce to NetSuite for sales order creation and propose improvements.
Have a process developed for the review of selected customer contracts on a regular basis as part of the routine workflow.
Understanding of the revenue forecasting model and active participation in the revenue forecasting process with finance.

💰Salary & Equity: In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $100,000-130,000 as well as stock options
