Position: Human Resources Generalist 
Location: Remote 
Category: Flexible, Part-time (15 hours) 
Reports to: Director, Human Resources 
Compensation: Fair Market Value, Equity-Based Compensation Model

Role Overview: 
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a vital role in all facets of HR, supporting our team members' personal and professional growth. Your expertise will help foster a positive organizational culture while ensuring compliance with HR practices aligned with SOULCHI's mission. 

Responsibilities: 

Recruiting and Talent Acquisition: 

  • Assist in developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract top talent. 
  • Support the full lifecycle of recruitment, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates. 
  • Collaborate with team members to create job descriptions that align with our organizational values. 
  • Facilitate candidate communications to ensure a positive applicant experience. 
  • Participate in outreach initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion in the recruitment process. 

Employee Engagement and Support: 

  • Assist in onboarding new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. 
  • Help organize employee engagement activities and wellness programs. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and support regarding HR-related issues. 
  • Collect feedback from employees to identify areas for improvement in engagement initiatives. 

Talent Development: 

  • Support training and development initiatives that promote employee growth and skills enhancement. 
  • Help coordinate performance review processes and feedback mechanisms. 

HR Operations: 

  • Maintain employee records and assist with HR administrative tasks. 
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and relevant employment laws. 
  • Assist in the preparation of HR documentation, such as offer letters and policy manuals. 
  • Support HR audits and compliance reporting as necessary. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Foster strong relationships with team members and cross-functional partners to support HR initiatives. 
  • Assist in creating and distributing internal communications related to HR activities. 

Continuous Improvement: 

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR to contribute to process enhancements. 
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving workplace culture and employee satisfaction. 

Required Qualifications: 

    • 3+ years of experience in human resources or related roles, including internships or volunteer positions. 
    • Understanding of HR practices and employment laws. 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. 
    • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in the HR field. 

     Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Asana, BreezyHR, HRIS. 
    • Start-up experience

    Equity-Based Compensation Opportunity:  

    As part of the SOULCHI team, you'll take part in our equity-based compensation model, aligning your success with the success of our business. After much research we have found the fairest equity model for a startup. We use the Slicing Pie model.  First phase is equity-based only, which we are currently in. Equity calculations move dynamically based on your fair market rate and actual number of hours worked.  In the second phase, which happens at the break-even point, the equity freezes at each member's current earned percentage and compensation switches to salary + benefits. Your equity percentage gets paid out annually as part of the profit sharing. This is more than a job; it's an opportunity to own a piece of the future.

As such, we offer flexibility in working hours for the HR Generalist role, with the opportunity to work anywhere between 15 to 20 hours per week, depending on the candidate's availability and suitability for the role.
