Job Description
Xometry (NASDAQ: XMTR) powers the industries of today and tomorrow by connecting the people with big ideas to the manufacturers who can bring them to life. Xometry’s digital marketplace gives manufacturers the critical resources they need to grow their business while also making it easy for buyers at Fortune 1000 companies to tap into global manufacturing capacity.
Xometry is looking for a Senior Content Designer to join our UX Team. Reporting to our Manager of UX Writing and Technical Content, you would be responsible for writing copy that improves our users’ experience and understanding of our platforms, while also helping designers, developers, researchers, product managers, and other writers do the same.
Team Values
- We support each other’s success. We take it as both an individual and a team responsibility to foster an environment of support and learning. We are resources to each other; we share knowledge regularly, share feedback freely, and coach each other as peers. We support each other through challenging situations, pick each other up when we make mistakes, and celebrate our wins together.
- We take the time to understand and listen to each other. We create space for people to offer different (and sometimes differing) perspectives, and incorporate that into our decision-making. We look to highlight our individual strengths and find ways to incorporate them into our research practice.
- We are flexible. We have the flexibility to approach our work using the techniques and methods appropriate to the problem at hand. At the same time, we can rely on the systems and guidelines that we’ve developed to feel more confident that their decisions fit within our strategic direction.
- We are collaborative. We gather perspectives from our customers, our stakeholders, and our colleagues to help make informed decisions about the direction of our experience. We have a seat at the table, and we use it to facilitate richer discussions about our customer’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Leading content design strategies within a cross-functional team of designers, researchers, developers, and product managers.
- Planning and writing strong, succinct copy for the Xometry platform, transactional emails, feature onboarding, and more.
- Upholding, improving, and evangelizing our internal Unified Copy Style Guide.
- Ensuring consistency and quality of language across the platform.
- Helping to improve the writing of designers, researchers, and writers on the UX Team.
- Participating in strategic planning and OKR creation alongside domain leadership.
- Leading copy testing, content audits, competitive analysis, and more.
- Using research and user feedback to iterate on in-platform copy and messaging.
Who You Are
- You have at least 3-5 years of experience as a Content Designer or UX Writer.
- You have a strong understanding of UX principles and best practices.
- You have worked on cross-functional teams alongside designers and/or other writers.
- You have experience as the lead writer of a team.
- You have experience building relationships and advocating for good copy.
- You have a strong eye for detail.
- You are able to simply explain complex features, products, and ideas.
- You are comfortable providing and receiving feedback in a group setting.
- You are able to clearly articulate your copy decisions.
- You are able to prioritize and manage your own work.
